Yankees Sweep Away Red Sox
What a weekend performance by the New York Yankees. Whether it was a blow out on Thursday, 15 innings on Friday, a shutout Saturday five to nothing and then a trio of Yankees homers on Sunday to slap the Red Sox out of the Bronx. What was a two and a half game lead entering play on Thursday, it is now a six and a half game lead. This sweep reminds me of the five game sweep in Fenway at the end of August in 2006.
The Yankees pitching was phenomenal and hitting was clutch as can be. Is this the end of the Red Sox dynasty? All signs point to yes!! This is turning into a great season and who now is talking about the Red Sox winning the first eight games against the Yankees. CC, Andy Pettitte, Joba and A.J. Burnett all were outstanding and they are all on track possibly for 15 wins each. The chemistry in the Yankee clubhouse is a level is has not been in years. I think they may put the egos aside and do the unthinkable and WIN. Let’s continue winning ways a go deep into October baseball. Here come the Pinstripes!!
