Statement Game

The ballgame against the Twinson May 15, 2009 in the Bronx ended in traditional Yankee fashion, a walk-off hit from the Milkman Melky Cabrera.  After a sluggish start from Phil Hughes and being down 3-0 it almost felt like here we go again, but we got a much needed boost from the captian Derek Jeter.  The biggest spark tonight came from Brett Gardner and Melky.  Gardner had the first ever inside-the-park HR in the new Yankee Stadium, that seemed to spark the crowd and also the team.  After that hit it felt as if we were gonna come back and win this much needed victory.  With the Red Sox losing again and the Yankees winning the Bombers are climbing up the ladder in the AL East and how about Mark Teixeira, I know he is barely hitting above .200 but he had some big at bats tonight and came through in the clutch as well as A-Rod drawing 3 walks.  I know he struck out with the bases loaded in the 3rd but he also did his job by getting on base.  Hopefully this is the beginning of good things to come.  GO BOMBERS
