Treading on Thin Ice

Are the lights at Yankee Stadium getting dark at an unusual time?  Before OCTOBER?  The streak of making the postseason 13 straight years is in serious jeopardy.  Entering play on September 5th, the Yankees are 7 1/2 games out in the Wild Card race with only 22 games left.

The Yankees have been playing well as of late.  This current crucial 10 game roadtrip, currently with a 3-1 record, is a MUST win situation.  The only problem is that “The Nation” also keeps winning dimming the chances of a 14th straight post season in the Bronx.  It may be too little to late.

I point at the starting pitching. What a surprise right?  The Yankee’s pitching staff has been very inconsistent all season long.  Where would they be if Santana, or even Sabathia, was in the rotation?  One can only wonder!  All we can do is sit back and watch to see if the Bombers have yet another trick up their sleeves - and some magic left in the “House that Ruth Built!

Well we all know there’s the spirits in Yankee Stadium.
If we could come back, and win number twenty-seven, that would be amazing.
But, truthfully, I am a dreamer. Santana is now 12-7 with a 2.70 ERA, with his last start being a 7 inning no-decision. Sabathia is 15-8 with a 2.77 ERA, last two game was 1-0, 16 IP.
Our best, Moose, is 17-8, 3.48 ERA. With either Sabathia or Santana added, we could really make a strong push.
I mean take your pick: Santana or Kennedy??
